Frequently Asked Questions — Deep Dive Leak Detection LLC

What is pool leak detection and why do I need it?
Pool leak detection is the process of identifying exactly where your pool, spa, or fountain is losing water. Even a small leak can waste tens of thousands of gallons per month, damage your pool structure, harm your landscaping, and cause your equipment to fail prematurely. Professional leak detection pinpoints the problem quickly so it can be repaired before it becomes a much bigger expense.
A good rule of thumb is the bucket test: fill a bucket with pool water, place it on a pool step, and mark the water levels inside and outside the bucket. After 24 hours, compare the two. If the pool lost significantly more water than the bucket, you likely have a leak. As a general guide, losing more than ¼ inch of water per day is a red flag worth investigating.
Even a small leak can waste between 20,000 and 30,000 gallons of water per month — sometimes more. That translates directly to higher water bills, chemical imbalances, and added stress on your pool equipment.
No. Deep Dive Leak Detection LLC is a detection-only company. Our job is to find your leak and provide you with a clear, detailed report. All repairs are referred to licensed contractors. This means you always get an honest, unbiased assessment — we have no financial incentive to find more problems than actually exist.

Our Services

What types of leaks do you detect?
We detect leaks in swimming pools, spas, hot tubs, fountains, and water features. We also perform plumbing pressure testing to identify failures in underground and above-ground pool plumbing lines.
Pressure testing involves pressurizing your pool's plumbing lines to identify cracks, breaks, or separations within the pipes. Underground plumbing leaks are one of the most common and costly sources of pool water loss, and they are nearly impossible to find without this type of specialized testing.
If you are buying a home with a pool in Cape Coral or the surrounding area, we strongly recommend scheduling a pool leak inspection before closing. A standard home inspection typically does not include a detailed pool leak evaluation. Our pre-purchase inspection gives you documented proof of the pool's condition, potential negotiating power if a leak is found, and peace of mind before one of the biggest investments of your life.
Yes. We regularly work alongside realtors, buyers, and home inspectors throughout Southwest Florida. We can coordinate scheduling to fit within your closing timeline and provide a written report that can be shared with all parties involved in the transaction.

After the Inspection

You'll receive a detailed report identifying the location and nature of the leak. We'll explain our findings clearly and refer you to licensed pool repair contractors who can handle the fix. You're free to choose any contractor you prefer.
Our detailed written reports are often useful when filing insurance claims related to pool damage or water loss. We recommend checking with your insurance provider about their specific documentation requirements.
If our inspection does not reveal a leak, that's actually great news — it means your water loss is likely due to evaporation or splash-out, which we can help you assess. You'll still receive documentation of our inspection and findings.
